Game Info

6th Street Omaha Poker was released as a Pogo game on March 22, 2005.

6th Street Omaha Poker is a card game for up to six players. The object of Omaha is to have the highest ranking hand at the end of several betting rounds by making the best five-card hand using any combination of the two of the four cards that are dealt to you and three of the five cards in the center of the table. The player with the highest hand wins all of the Tokens that have been placed in the pot.

At the start of the game, players are dealt four cards. There is then one round of betting, in which players can place new bets, match the current bet (known as "calling"), raise the amount of the current bet, or stop betting and drop out of the hand (known as "folding").

Once all players have either bet the same amount of tokens or folded, three cards are dealt into the center of the table. These cards are known as "community cards" because they can be used by all players to make their poker hand. There is another round of betting, and then a fourth community card is dealt into the center of the table. There is another round of betting, and a fifth and final card is dealt into the center of the table, followed by one last round of betting.

Once this last round of betting is over, all players who are left in the game have the option of buying into a 6th community card, also known as 6th Street. (Now the name makes sense, right?) If they opt-in, they can use this 6th card as one of their three community cards when making their poker hand - otherwise, it remains left out of the equation.
